  • the next generation is sick with the new power silver gorilla back has 60,000 mah capacity or the same as 10 laptops combined and the solar gorilla extreme next generation which is made of monochrystaline to better efficiency and bigger

  • @bonds911

I know, I checked the Powertraveller website on what's up and coming. Already in contact with them on keeping me in touch on their new developments. I now have a year's experience. The Powergorilla has 20000 mAh, but could charge my 8 cell 5000 mAH 14.4 V 35 Watt laptop only once, so do not be fooled buy the Amperage, but also look at the battery power output.

  • @wevenhuis wow thank you for sharing your knowledge . i also had in mind since theyr solar extreme solar charger is only 30 watt, do you think their upcoming silverback powergorilla would charge directly from a solar panel that i bought is a polycristaline 270 watt almost 10 times tha one of theier solar extreme ...

  • @bonds911

i wouldn't see why not. I am asuming that the Solar Gorilla will have a built in converter and surge protector, just like the Power Gorilla. The only thing I have my doubts on is of the 270 Watt power output isn't too much to handle. It coult be that you need a 270-...Watt converter. Ask Oliver from Power Traveller if he can answer this question.

  • Thankx, I want one and looks Nice....

  • I have just bought a solar gorilla but I havn't bought the power gorilla yet. I am under the impression that if I leave it out in direct sunlight and plug it into my laptop it will charge up the battery but I cannot run my laptop at the same time. I am going to Hungary soon (hopefully) and as you may know it is sunny almost every day for long periods. My intention is to charge it up during the day and use it on an evening. I have not had a chance to try it out yet. I also have a solar lamp!

  • I have also noticed that it doesn't all work optimally unless in the full sun. The yield of the suns energy is still disappointing in Europe at least. Perhaps it is different at the equator. It takes me 3 days to chagre up my powergorilla to 80% with the solar gorilla. With the solar monkey I noticed that charging the rechargeable batteries with the power chimp and the solar monkey, that the batteries discharged! I am still waiting for a solution from power traveller.

  • Thank you.
