  • Right you are - did you participate im the Neil Young organized memorial that toured your country ( Crosby,Stills,&Nash reunited) with a giant video screen with the pictures(faces) of all those sacrificed.Young's idea was to honour them by "attatching" the faces to the names thereby drawing much more attention to the travesty.I believe his tour was also intended to enlighten some of those naive youngsters (no pun intended) who might be thinking about enlisting to"save" us from the latest "ism"

  • @eblunot

no i didnt participate but i certainly support that type of initiative. i hooked up with Willie Nelsons effort here on you tube, a song called "A Peaceful Solution" which i covered at the request of his team which made it to his website and picked up a few thousand views on YT.

i changed the words a bit with their permission to reflect more of the sentiment we're talking about. check it out.

    Thanks

    Strat

  • @eblunot Everyone has the right to criticize our government for involvement in war but no one has the the right to criticize the people that go to fight our wars! They are the heroes!

  • @eastshorejohn

  • @eastshorejohn why not? I was in a war and feel justified by that experience to criticize you, others who served, and anyone else I might come across in life and find is doing something wrong.

  • god bless the USA. i just wonder why the terrorists hate us.... maybe our govt isnt the best, but why hate the people?

  • Hope you realise that the song has nothing to do with the pictures at all.

  • @eblunot No, it's very rarely the wealthy sons who end up as cannon fodder. That's the glory of capitalistic imperialism for you. -- Kristyn Sherman, yes-- the General was my ancestor, on my mom's side,

  • So sad... I hurt for their families. As a soldier's girlfriend, I can imagine the pain the loved ones felt... but I don't want to.

  • @eblunot

it doesnt sit well with me either.

but i think that the sacrifice of these brave men and women deserve to be memorialized, along with the countless others who believed in their hearts that they were fighting for the freedom of their country.

thats what this video is about
