Filmed 2/17/10 This six speed manual trans 2010 GTI was dyno'd totally stock w/1600 miles on the car. Results were impressive at 200 WHP and 215 foot pounds of wheel torque. We then added APR's Stage 1 Software w/Carbonio Stage 1 Cold Air Intake System and put the car back on the dyno netting us some very impressive gains of thirty wheel horsepower and fifty five foot pounds of wheel torque... all from an investment of under $1000.

Any negative consequences on the stock clutch for a 6MAN at stage 1+ Carbonio intake? Assuming correct handling of the clutch, can it be reasonably expected to handle the increased torque without abnormal premature failure? Thanks for this video!

@johnsonran You should be fine (driving dependent) Stage II is where the disk becomes the weak link, its that added torque that pushes it over the limit.

@FutrellAutowerks Got it. Awesome! One more question: What is the stock whp? Or is the 200/207 measured at the crank? I thought the stage one gains were by a higher margin than this. Just curious?
johnsonran 11 months ago
@johnsonran As we tested the stock number we say were what VW is claming is stock crank horsepower, the software builds its power beyond that, because Audi/VW have taken to underating the crank horsepower the overall numbers aren't as high from the gains.

@futrellautowerks
Found this article and it answered a lot of questions. Doesn't say anything about gas milage, however it does say they had a 0-60 time of 6.0 seconds. They had a suspension kit and APR program, and I think that is all.

@kirgavik Your fuel economy will go up or stay the same with Stage 1- 2+ level upgrades, its only when you get to Stage III the fuel economy goes down. This of course depends on your driving habits.
