On Friday the 13th of June 1952, a Swedish signal intelligence equipped DC-3, numbered Tp79001, was shot down by a Soviet MIG-15 over international waters. 51 years later the wreckage was discovered by a private research team and in March 2004 the Swedish navy recovered the remains of the aircraft. The wreckage was transported to the Swedish Air Force Museum on the 14th of May 2009 and now it is displayed as a centrepiece for an exhibition about the cold war opened in June 2010.
