I read somewhere a few weeks ago, that you cannot buy AO games anywhere in the US, because all distributor and big retailer refuse to sell them. Also Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo don't license AO rated games for consoles, so it is not like they have fear to get AO for no reason. They literally would not be able to sell the game, because nobody is willing to retail it.
It is the US: You can splatter innocent people in all gory detail, but as soon as you see a half nacked woman, people go crazy...
Lol, brilliant dude, you made like eight valid points throughout this video. I'm in total agreement with you about how people need to just shut up and read the back of the box, or even just the front of it. I think I especially agree with you since I'm in college for video game design right now, and having censors on what you can and can't do is more like a ball and chain than a precautionary measure.
@leonmd1975 It's not really the developers though, its the actual production companies that don't let them because they might not sell or it will give them a bad reputation.
I blame the developers for not having the balls to do what they want I see no difference between movies and games and you don't see the kind of censorship in movies that you do in games and its a whole lot easier to see nudity in movies then in games
my problem is: youth protection in Germany also censors games, but in my opinion a rating 18+ should be everything, because as soon as you don't give a game 18+ you are not longer doing youth protection because you are legal with 18 here, so you should be able to make you own decisions about this shit.
But in general parents just should be interested in there kids hobbies and TV journalists should just fuck the shut up, if they don't have a clue what they are talking about.
I agree with you, but the problem is that the understanding of what children should see is totally different: In Europe Bioware could easily put full nudity in Dragon Age and it would not matter for the PG Rating because they only are pretty violent, so they would still be 18+ (in Germany). In America they would get Adult Only and afaik you could practically nowhere buy it anymore.
So America they are too sensitive about nudity and language, in Europe it is much more about violence...
TOTALLY agree! I couldn't have said it any better. The blame should not be on the game developers it should be on stupid parents that are too lazy to check their kid's games first. And then they go around pointing the friggin finger because their kid played GTA 4 and went into a strip club. So annoying. LOVE your rants by the way, you crack me up with some of the things you say lol xD
Do a John Cena rant lol
