Well if like me you have no idea how to get the key because the quest is not able to be picked up. You have to go to Dal/sewers to see the locksmith to get your key back. The key was removed from your keyring after the patch. If you didn't have the key before the patch I have no idea, sorry. Spent about 2hrs running around clearing every boss getting pissed off because I couldn't enter the West Garrison to finish the quest.

The Shadowforge Key is my favourite key in World of Warcraft! It's like the key to the city in Blackrock Depths!
