Wonderfully spirited performance; passionate and vivacious! My first favorite is Louis Lortie, though. This runs a tight second. I have the sheet music, too. I like to just stare at those amazing leaps and bounds, shifting lines and phenomenal stretches ( 'cause I certainly can't play them, lol!).

Vi a ese pianista cuando tocó en Madrid en 2009, o fue 2010, ahora no me acuerdo. Es fenomenal. Le buscaba después para saludarle pero parecía un poco antipático (no digo que es, es así que parecía) y después de poco se fue.

This is such an incredible piece!! I have the sheet music and it's unbelievably hard though.. How is it that I've never heard it in discussions about the hardest pieces in the modern repertoire??? It seems like its up there with Scarbo and Islamey! I haven't learned either of those, so I can't really talk, but any input??

Really wonderful. Colourful playing. Different tone colours could be perfrectly shown. This is the best version of Petrouchka that I have ever enountered. Your fingers are fully responsive to your mind of playing. Did you win the competition?

i read it is one of the most difficult piece to play,but i think that a prokofiev's concerto or some other rachmaninov compositions are more difficult...

This Petrouchka performance is on par with Pollini and Weissenberg. An mp3 of the performance would be appreciated.

Really appreciate this video as I've never seen it performed before.
I do prefer Pollini's version I have on CD. I think he lets the inner melody of the block chords sing slightly better, and some of Alessandro's pauses between sections are a little uncomfortable to my ears. But still a wonderful performance.
