They say happiness can't be bought but who isn't happy when something is bought for them? But even a single smile, a tender kiss, an act of sweetness or a simple look can make anyone happy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I tied the blindfold over Abigail's eyes and firmly grabbed her hand. "Joe, what is this all about?"
"Just wait and see. I have a surprise for you."
"Joe, you don't need to do this for me."
"I really want to, sweetheart. I love you." I gently grabbed her face and kissed her soft lips. "Come on."
I led her outside and put one arm around her and held her hand. I led her down the road to the surprise. I could see people eyeing us. They gave me weird looks but I didn't mind. I was doing this for my beloved fiancée. I thought it was a great idea. I knew it would be necessary.
I arrived at our destination and smiled. "Okay. Are you ready, Abigail?"
"Yes, I'm ready. Hurry up, Joe."
I laughed. "Calm down. Okay, here it is."
I pulled the blindfold off and Abigail immediately gasped. "Joe, is this what I think it is?"
"Depends." I chuckled. "It's for you, Abigail. What do you think?" I wrapped my arms around her from behind.
She pulled away from me and turned to look at me. She jumped into my arms and I held her. "Joe, I can't believe you would do this for me!"
"I would do anything for you. So you like it?"
"I love it. Come on. Let's go see inside."
I had bought a house for me and Abigail. Once we got married, we would need a place to live. I knew that it would be sooner or later. I couldn't just have us live with Abigail's parents after we got married. The house was nice. It had several rooms and it was full of wonderful furniture.
She opened the door and gasped again. She started looking around at the very nicely adorned living room. She rushed over to the chairs and the kitchen. She looked so happy and it brought a huge smile to my face. I was glad to make her happy. It was all I wanted to do.
She quickly turned and ran into my arms. I kissed the top of her head. "So you like it?"
"Of course I do. It's a beautiful home. I can't believe you bought a house just for us. I love it."
"I'm glad you do."
"How did you afford such a beautiful house?"
"I am still the Prince, Abigail."
"Are you saying you took money from your parents? Joe, you shouldn't do that."
"Believe me, they owe me at least this. I never got to be happy with them. I want to be happy with you, Abigail."
She sighed. "I guess that's okay then."
"Of course it is. Besides, they owe me so much that I bought Nick and Keri a house right next to us."
"What?" She looked shocked and a tad angry.
"Sweetheart, don't worry about it. My parents have enough. They owe me for what they've done to me, for what they did to Kevin."
"Joe, you are so incredibly sweet. This is why I love you."
I gave Abigail a little tour of our future house. She loved all of it. It had two extra rooms, for children that we might have in the future. There was already a bed in the bigger bedroom and we kissed on it. Abigail was ecstatic to have something to look forward to after our wedding.
Nick and Keri looked around their own house and were excited to see a room specially made for Rose. They couldn't thank me enough for buying them a house and just seeing how happy they were was enough for me. They deserved it as much as we did. I was glad to make them happy.
We went back to Jonathan's house and we all had dinner together. Marie and the two other girls all cooked up something special for us men. Well, Nick wasnt exactly a man yet but he was getting there. We started talking about the girls and we were just so in love with them.
I looked over at my beautiful Abigail and smiled as I saw her chop vegetables. Her brown, silky hair bounced as she moved and I watched as she concentrated on cutting. She finally looked up at me and I smiled when I saw her beautiful blue eyes. She smiled at me and went back to cooking.
We were served dinner and it all looked delicious. It was a real family dinner. All of us were laughing and smiling and having a really great time together. There were occasional kisses but no one really minded. Rose cried a couple of times but we all took turns tending to her.
It was a wonderful night. After dinner, we all sat down around in the living room. Jonathan and Marie shared some stories from before they were married. They were so cute. They really loved each other. I could see Abigail and I being like that in many years. We would love each other no matter what.
Nick and Keri went to their new house to spend their first night there. Abigail and I went into the bedroom and slept in each other's arms. What could be better?
Will Joe and Abigail's happiness last? Will Joe's dream life finally be lived by him?
I've lost a lot of commenters in my time and not too long ago, I lost two very good ones. So posting is not something I like to do. I'm posting the rest of this story though.
  • Aw, I think it's every girls dream to have someone to care for them as much as Joe cares for Abigail.
