California Penal Code 12031 (e) check. Open Carrying in California comes with its challenges. This officer doesn't have to check to ensure the handgun I'm carrying is unloaded but he can legaly. This penal code will soon be challanged. On the whole this encounter was better than others. Notice the deputy doesn't ask for ID (He's met me before and I didn't show ID then). He doesn't take my gun and run the serial number against the D.O.J. database or check to see if it's stolen. He had no reason to suspect anything illegal was going on. Very Respectful deputy.

  • Why the fuck carry a gun if its not loaded....Wake up America!!!

  • @popeye1250 its a deterrent, no ones gonna fuck with you if they see you have a gun with you. same way you slow down on the street after seeing a cop nearby after speeding.

  • you have the bullets in your pocket.

  • Actually it's not so stupid... concealed carry unloaded would be stupid. Open carry you may run an elevated risk of somebody snatching your gun.

  • He didn't ID you or run the serial numbers... I bet if you were black he would have... because you know how us black people are. And having an unloaded gun... makes it a scarecrow on your hip, and a short club should you need to defend yourself. Cali is on some stupid shit.

  • @ironmonnkey15 Right, makes no sense.

  • @kopskup You can have a clip on you, yes.

  • @1775novten Whats funny about the long rifle thing is it looks more like your doing to do something with that than having a pistol on your side.

  • @ironmonnkey15 I've never heard of that, but I don't live in Cali. I do know that they banned open carry for sidearms, so now you can only open carry long rifles in Cali.

  • so if the gun needs to be unloaded what that really means? r u allowed to have bullets with u or bullets in mag ? or how is it?

  • @1775novten if I remember correctly because of the changes in the law recently you cannot even have ammunition on your persons because they now classify it as loaded. Even when the magazine is not in the gun.

  • PLEASE tell me you had a fully loaded clip in your back pocket, lol
