@DARRINCONNOR1 Oh man, that was 1984 in some cut and paste zine... I don't remember the name of it but I definitely remember them saying Slayer wasn't an influence and that Brian got kicked out for being gay. They were also talking shit on Hellhammer's musical abilities in that same interview (I honestly don't know how I can remember that shit some 25 years later, especially considering how much weed I smoke!)

@DARRINCONNOR1 And Quorthon said Bathory wasn't influenced by Venom which is clearly bullshit (no disrespect, R.I.P.)... bands probably say stuff like that to avoid being labeled as a clones. I remember them saying they weren't influenced by Slayer but in the same interview they said they kicked out Brian Montana because they caught him hooking up with a dude! Probably just young egos talking shit (plus I've seen Jeff in a Slayer shirt)
