Obama, your soldiers besieged me. I was besieged by your soldiers for ten hours. I was besieged by thirty tanks accompanied by helicopters and warplanes. They bombed, bombed and bombed us. The battle started at 7:30 in the morning and continued until sundown. Ill tell you frankly about my emotions when the battle began. I swear by Allah, Obama, Allah in His mercy and grace sent down upon us tranquility. We were besieged in an Afghan village. When the battle first began, the worshippers of the Cross and lovers of prostitution attacked this village in which we were staying with thirty tanks and Humvees and with helicopters. The battle began at 7:30. Ill tell you about my feelings on this day, a day which I will never forget, Obama. It was a Monday, and I was praise be to Allah fasting. This is from Allahs grace and mercy. And my greatest wish imagine, Obama my greatest, most beautiful and dearest wish in this world is that I be killed as a martyr in Allahs path while fasting: that I meet Allah while fasting as a martyr patient, seeking my reward and advancing, not fleeing. The battle began, with bombing, shelling and strikes. During the operation, Obama, my weapon stopped working. In all frankness. Our weapons are out of date. Were poor people. Your weapons, of course, are the latest models. And its no problem if my weapon stops working, because I have hand grenades. But the real problem is greater than this, Obama. Would you believe that I slept during the battle? I swear by Allah, Obama, I slept! And when He caused sleep to come upon you as a sign of security from Him (8:11) You cant imagine such a thing, but it was in fact mercy from Allah, the Glorious and Most High.
Im not speaking baselessly and I dont say anything which doesnt spring from the doctrine in which we believe. And from where do we take this doctrine? We take it from the Book of Allah and the tradition of His Messenger. Allah (the Glorious and Most High) says, Those to whom the people said, The people are gathering against you, so fear them, but it [only] increased their faith, and they said, For us Allah suffices, and He is the Best Guardian. (3:173) Allah is the Greatest. Why did they say For us Allah suffices, and not, For us the East suffices or For us the West suffices or For us so-and-so suffices or For us this-or-that party suffices? No, they said For us Allah suffices, and He is the Best Guardian. Why? Because faith was in their hearts, because awe of Allah was in their hearts. If awe of the creation had been in their hearts, they would have said, For us the East suffices, or For us the West suffices. We believe in the statement of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), when he said, Be watchful of [the Commandments of] Allah, and He will preserve you and if [all the people] gather to do harm to you, they will not be able to afflict you with anything other than that which Allah has preordained for you. And from our creed is that what Allah wills happens and what He doesnt will doesnt happen.
Just imagine, Obama! I slept during the battle! I slept through bombing, bombing and more bombing. All praise is due to Allah, it is from His protection and care that your soldiers didnt discover the place in which I was sleeping. This is by the grace of Allah, and as I told you, we believe that what befell you wasnt going to miss you, and that what missed you wasnt going to befall you. The battle ended around sundown, and the forces withdrew, but luck wasnt with me and I wasnt martyred in this battle. I swear by Allah, Im telling you my emotions in all frankness and Im not flexing my muscles at you or showing you my heroism, courage and strength. No, no, Obama, Allah the Glorious and Most High forbade us to do that, saying, So ascribe not purity to yourselves. (53:32) But these are just emotions. I swear by Allah, if I am not martyred in this battle, which is one of the greatest battles of Islam, the battle of Islam with the worshippers of the Cross
