*Description:
While economic integration facilitates labor mobility, there still exist obstacles and dilemmas, such as the fact that even though mobility is encouraged for several reasons, education and training yet remain national responsibilities. Principles for cooperation are thus required, including transparency of qualifications and qualifying structures and mutual trust and acceptance of certain minimum standards. This session will discuss the principles, mechanisms and instruments that exist in the European Union for the assessment and recognition of education, and explore current and possible future developments in Asia.
