FLORENCE, Ky. (WKRC) -- Kentucky suspends the medical license of a local spine doctor who is facing federal charges. Doctor Atiq Durrani is charged with performing unnecessary surgeries and billing his patients' insurance companies for the work. He's also faces a charge of distributing controlled substances.Durrani had offices in both Florence and Evendale. The Kentucky Medical Board informed Durrani it was suspending his license until the criminal charges are resolved. Durrani has pleaded not guilty to ten charges of health care fraud and lying about health care matters.
