I had limited the maximum positive and negative pitch as this was causing the tail to blow out..

I have just discovered my DX8 radio has a "Tail Curve" feature that will automatically compensate for the yaw effect of large pitch angles (rotor drag) it is beneficial in 2 ways.. Firstly it prevents the tail yawing at large collective settings and secondly it allows me to adjust for greater pitch settings as the heli now remains controllable at greater collective pitch angles.

  • hee nice. ....but just so you know yer sticks are backwards!!! lol good vid but i can tell you are a collective pitch newb!! it ok . so you want no more than 9 or 10 on yer max pitch. nice radio !! too it ll last you for rest of your life!!! your tail kiks out during max cyclic and /or collective and it can be tamed so you can bang the sticks without fear of stall/bind= tail kikn out when you really dont want it to. i m gonna vid you a tail brace mod that really helps with the tail thing

  • @bowmaaker Thanks, any help and advice is greatly appreciated!

  • I don't think revo mix on the dx6i is the same thing as Tail Curve on the dx8. Revo mix is only for rate gyros and not heading hold. If I give it anything more than 0 rm the heli spins right but still blows out the tail when I pump the throttle.

  • @Kidlat432 Thanks for the info..

  • So i will not be able to do this on my dx6i right ? and.... do you ever crash? lol

  • @oenta83 Yes, I think you can use the "Revo Mix" in your DX6i to do the same thing... I try really hard not to crash!

  • In the manual the tailcurve is explained as a tool for helis flying without HH Gyro

  • Thanks for the upload. I will try the revo mix when I get home. I heard though that revo mix only works when you're in rate mode and not heading hold. Will try anyway.

  • Great video Trainboy, and thanks for posting it. I have been having trouble with my mcpx spinning wildly under hard flying, and had no idea what the revo mix on my dx6i did. I will test how well this works with the dx6i on the weekend(waiting for LHS to open for parts!)

  • Nice info Rob, will pass on to a few folk that have this Heli, ,I have posted them some of your great Videos already
