Some of the things here are ironic, but many of them weren't...a dead-end sign near a grave is a coincidence, as is the Marlboro man getting cancer. Getting hit by a Dodge truck is funny and ironic, though.

Irony is when the actual meaning of the words is the opposite of their surface meaning (so the first line about a song called "irony" that doesn't have irony could fit here). Irony can also mean when actions have the opposite effect of their intention. Most examples in this song are humorous coincidences, as are many of the examples in the original song.
