this single clip traumatised my childhood when I first saw it in 96, I'm glad they didn't show the full version I saw on dvd a few years later

It may sound weird but I have goose bumps when watching this particular scene. This is one of the rare serious (not comedy) scenes in RD. Rimmer finally getting out of his shell of self-loathing and turning into Ace Rimmer.
