CBS 5 news. former BART officer Johannes Mehserle and his attorneys are in court this week. They do not want his trial in Oakland. A survey shows that 80% of Af. Americans in Alameda Co. already believe he is guilty of murder.
"Fair trail"? Did the young man get a fair trial before he was served his death sentence? Ultimately, where do they expect Meserle to find "peers"? In the final analysis, the man should be tried in the county in which he allegedly committed the crime. I can't be accused of killing a man then ask to move to another county because of public outrage.
at this time, given the huge amount of news and buzz this story is getting, I give the trial about a 75% chance that it will need to be moved.
