Not my favourite Quo song. Indeed, it's one of my least favourites as is the album it features on, the absolutely awful 'Ain't Complaining'. I didn't think at the time that Quo could make an album that would be worse than 'Ain't Complaining' but they managed to do just that with the follow-up album, the rank rotten 'Perfect Remedy'. As Francis Rossi was to later admit, Status Quo "lost their way" in the 1980s. I concur. 'Cross That Bridge' is indicative of a band who had disappeared up their own arses. Thankfully, Quo were to subsequently see the error of their ways. Phew!

I heard Rossi slagging off this period od the Quo on a documentry, I wish he wouldn't as there are tracks that remind people of different things and I loved this time in my life, ok its not brilliant Quo but they're nice songs!!

I get the feeling that after Alan had left, Quo felt they had to go for a more contemporary sound. I dont mind the AC album, its not typical Quo, but there is a freshness about it!

This album is over twenty years old now, and although many will disagree with me, I consider it a classic. Granted its not on the level, or blue for you, but ive said it before and i daresay ill say it again, but there is a freshness about this period, both musically and image wise. It went stale after this, and somehow lost the momentum of the "new" line up.
