This is the new jailbreak released an hour ago by Geohot. It jailbreaks the firmware 3.1.2 on every device except for the iPod touch 3g which needs to be rejailbroken each time you reboot it.

YOU MUST BE ON 3.1.2 FIRMWARE FOR THIS TO WORK. IT WORKS ON ALL DEVICES.

when i try to download blackra1n it says that the application has failed to start because ASL.dll was not found and to try reinstalling but thats not working...so i was wondering if u could help??

ok so i jailbroke my 2G 3.1.2 firmware ipod touch recently with blackra1n like last night everything works great and had no problems with my jailbreak but when ever i turn my ipod off it goes into recovery mode when i turn it back on!
someone please help!!!!
i have since last night jailbroken it 4 times then i have restored it back to 3.1.2 firmware on itunes and the same thing keeps happening!! I DONT KNOW WHATS WRONG!! can someone please tell me what i am doing wrong??

yours is a 2g with an MC bootrom, this means that everytime you turn it off you have to rejailbreak to turn it on.
Read up on everything before jailbreaking dude, you've done everything right.

hey, the only reason im jailbreaking my iphone is because i switched my sim card and im stuck at the emergency lock screen. i did this and it worked and rebooted but it went straight back to the connect to itunes screen!! please help!! thank you sosososo much for any answers
