@Soundwave3591 I think Comet Empire is from the collective European superpowers. I had hard time identifying the Dark Empire. Each evil alien seems to contain the bad memories from Japan's war-time military government. It's really a mushed-up.
But why did Yamato crash land when it could've assaulted the enemy from the air? Previous battle damage?
They shoulda launched Cosmo Tigers upon entry and rained wave from above.
Oh, well, no one sits around and talks about me, much, for good or bad, and my final answer is I love this cartoon. In fact, Battlestar Galactica, which I also love, had to be inspired by it!
Yamota has always been such a strange series. Awesome space battles one minute, then they drag out goofy shit like aliens on robot horses. Still love it though. Oh, and while we're at it. Hey EDF, how about looking into combat armor for your crews?
What were they smoking? They landed on the planet of the Micronauts! It's the only explination for horses in space! If they ever dub this into english, they should get Kelsey Grammer to do the guy with the big forehead.
@nosorab3 Just stupid anti-American sentiment as usual, but worst as a Yamato series.

@IllustratingCat Yamato always did that to the enemy alien empires(Gamilus, Comet, Dark Nebula). They needed some variety...

@Pathwolf here's the basic references: Gamilons: Germans/Nazis. Comet Empire: USSR (early cold war) Dark Empire: United states. Bolar: USSR (late cold war) Dinguil: Spanish comquistadors.
