QuietRoseBlooming wanted to see where I go hiking so I took the dog up the trails to show her the view... only problem was my dog got over heated and wouldn't budge from the shade of a small tree. Poor guys feet were hurting and he was flat out overheated in the 90 degree heat. It took 1 1/2 hours to get him back to the car to take him home. We only made it half way up the trails before having to turn back and go home. It was Moonies first time up this trail and obviously too hard for him. For me, its been a year since the last time I went up. My back hurts too much but I was able to get up it today. Happy 4th folks! I got him a dogie back pack for next time. http://wolfpacks.com/
I tied him to a bigger tree with more shade, went down the mountain to the car and got him several bottles of water. A couple to drink and a couple to wet his ears, face, and belly with. He now has a dogie back pack where he carries his water with him... but we dont do that trail anymore. The poor kid just cant take it. We stick to the flat trails next to the creeks.
