Hirschsprungs disease and intestinal pseudo-obstruction are relatively uncommon motility disorders. Severity can range from mild to extreme. In this video, Carlo DiLorenzo MD, Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Childrens Hospital of Columbus Ohio, talks about progress in diagnosing and treating the disorders using surgical techniques. Effective drug treatments are yet to be found. Electrical stimulation or pacing shows promise for treatment.
