What is Reformed Theology? The Vicarious Atonement of Christ (Part I)
"Let there be no misunderstanding at this point. The Arminian limits the atonement as certainly as does the Calvinist. The Calvinist limits the extent of it in that he says it does not apply to all persons (although as has already been shown, he believes that it is efficacious for the salvation of the large proportion of the human race); while the Arminian limits the power of it, for he says that in itself it does not actually save anybody. The Calvinist limits it quantitatively, but not qualitatively; the Arminian limits it qualitatively, but not quantitatively. For the Calvinist it is like a narrow bridge which goes all the way across the stream; for the Arminian it is like a great wide bridge which goes only half-way across...."

@THERAPTURECOMES 2Peter 2:1 is talking about God of the old testament buying Israel. Its not talking about Christ dying in the new testament. Please read exodus 15:16 and see how God purchased Israel.

2 Peter 2:1 says Christ bought the false teachers but they denied Him going to their own destruction.

Lets hear your answer to the question

Pastors like Kenneth Copeland and others say Jesus, who was the exact image of God, healed everyone who came to him and this shows that it is ALWAYS God's will to heal every one of disease who comes to Him in faith. If Jesus is the image of God when here on Earth, why do you suppose he never let anyone stay in their disease, saying, in effect, no--this is God's will for you? Why didn't he do something we would see as painful to someone and say, "You'll understand this later"? thank you.

I have a theological question that I am hoping you might have the time and inclination to answer. I struggle with the concept of God's sovereignty vs. the fact of disease. Reformed churches, as I understand it, believe that because God is sovereign, all things that happen are because He ordains it. That is why I pose this question to you in all sincerity (see next comment)

Another example of interpreting Scripture by your theology. Human logic is interesting, but it is not an answer to the question.

Excellent video, a subject that truly needs more proper teaching on.
