2010 Mandela-Tambo Lecture
"The Unlikely Secret Agent"
Ronnie Kasrils

The 2010 Lecture will launch the book, "The Unlikely Secret Agent" by Ronnie Kasrils, and will be delivered by the author. The book is about the underground activity of his late wife, Eleanor, in the early 1960s in apartheid South Africa. John Le Carré writes, "This is a wonderful book about a courageous and extraordinary woman who was highly principled, yet endowed by nature with all the clandestine skills."
Ronnie Kasrils was Deputy Minister of Defence in Nelson Mandela's government, then Minister for Water and Forestry Affairs and, until 2009, Minister of Intelligence for South Africa. Prior to that, Ronnie was a leader in the armed wing of the African National Congress, Umkhonto we Sizwe.
The lecture will be followed by a Question and Answer session and then a reception, hosted by the Glasgow Centre for International Development. Ronnie will be available to sign books on sale at a special launch price of £12-50 (RRP £14-95).

Sponsored by ACTSA Scotland, The Lord Provost and Glasgow City Council, City of Glasgow College, Glasgow Caledonian University, University of Glasgow, University of Strathclyde and the South African High Commission
