The law of attraction does work and can scientifically be proven to do so. There's some truth in this so-called 'Secret' but it's not the entire picture. There are some things that no amount of positive visualization is gonna fix. A quadriplegic can visualize himself running around healthily all his waking hours, but as yet medical science has no way to help him ever walk again (in this lifetime, anyway). Having to endure such things is called 'vipaka' or the 'fruit' of an action (karma), most often from one's previous existence.
