Cameron Sky Villa is 2 years old and having his 2nd art show with over 40 new paintings. His first painting sold for $500. It's the first one you see in the video. Newspapers and television have been eager to cover the story. He's not a prodigy and he's no more special than any other 2 year old. He just loves to paint and seems to be finding a passion for art and creativity like the rest of his family (father, uncle, cousins, and grandparents)

  • Not to be an asshole, but a kid smearing paint around isn't talent, even if it does happen to look really cool. And it does look really cool.

  • I never said he was talented, just an artist...because he creates art. But if you think this type of painting is so simple, I challenge you to try it yourself. Please show pictures when you are finished. Thanks for your commets. I always appreciate other points of view.

  • I just read that as parents you guys do not consider him a 'child prodigy'... just a two year who loves to paint. That makes me feel so much better. I get concerned for children his age in light of the whole Marla episode, who, to me it seems, is just a normal kid being sadly puppeteered by her father for his own motives.

  • Yes, that's right. We have never referred to our son as a prodigy. And I agree with you about Marla Olmstead. I don't believe she was the sole creator of her work. It's very obvious.

  • One more thing... It would not be unusually for any child given lots of paint, brushes, paper etc. - and allowed the freedom to 'make a mess' - to arrive at something which to the average person appears to 'look like' abstract expressionism. The point is, a child that age could not be aware (or wholly conscious) of the formally decisions they are making in the process and why.

  • Many artist in the world "experiment" with art and create paintings that are completely experimental. (no plan involved) That is what children also do sometimes too.
