We have fallen head-over-heels in love with the wonderful children of Casa Betesda.

In 2000, Winnie and I made our first ministry trip to Nicaragua. We instantly developed a love connection with the precious little sweethearts of this Christ-centered orphanage system. Right on the spot, we became monthly supporters and have been able to increase our monthly giving through the years as well as contribute to many of their special needs and building projects. We've also made it a habit to spend every Christmas with them where we throw a full scale fiesta that includes lots of food, joyful music, dancing, a big candy-filled piñata and of course, plenty of kisses of hugs.

Recently we witnessed their struggle as the primary financial backers for Casa Betesda folded and disappeared.

Who would take care of the children? Who has the means?

We know that Jesus does, so in March of 2010 Global Celebration stepped up to the plate. It is a beautiful inheritance story, the true spirit of adoption. Suddenly we were new "parents" and we sat down to listen to the children one by one as they told us their stories. Tears filled all of our eyes as they described the heartache of parents who passed away from AIDS, of families torn apart from drugs and abuse, of living in shacks with no plumbing or electricity, with little or no food to eat. Some were rescued from living on the streets and told horrific tales of being vulnerable, abused and hopeless.

And as we continued to talk with them, we also heard of their joy and gratitude to be able to live and be loved at Casa Betesda. To be able to wear clean clothes and eat healthy meals every day, to go to school and dream dreams with a future and a hope. And by the way, you should hear these children pray, wow!

We took it to heart when young Adonis told us that he wants to be a pastor and the anointing of God was there to back it up; and when Downey said with a sparkle in her eye that she wants to be a doctor when she grows up...

We want to empower the children, restore dignity and provide a future full of hope. To make all of this happen we need your help. The children have the power to change their world, and we have the power to help them do it!
Together you and I can take care of their today while we also build hope for a better tomorrow.

Thank you for linking arms with us to help bring the tangible and transforming love of Jesus to these precious little treasures. We believe that you will share in the same grace, the same joy and in every blessing with us! (Phil. 1:3-7)
