Here's an interesting (funky) knock-off I bought a few years back while I was in Manila. I love how it's titled, "Super Robot Super Fine Distortion Power". Hilarious. Add to that, "quick & easy transfiguration the car". Wow. Anyway, back to the toys. This is a two-pack that also includes something that looks inspired by G1 Brawn. But, my attention here is mainly on the bumblebee.

He's an interesting size, although in cartoony proportions, it seems close to scale with classics. I enjoy the funky colors. Especially the pink windows. Almost like an unintentional homage to bumblebee's pink interior in the original cartoon. There's the funky head design (which actually looks inspired by G1 Cliffjumper's head) in super funky colors. Oddly enough, the head on the Brawn style figure looks more inspired by G1 Bumblebee's head, although in an evil crimson, black and pink color scheme (haha)! The faction symbol on these guys look inspired by Playskool's Transformers Go-Bots Autobot symbol.

All in all, a pretty cool bootleg. It's not just a direct copy in bad plastic and paint, like most KO's, it's oversized, which makes it unique. Oh, and those funky colors... ;)

  • 0:46 that is so true.

  • @MegaFoxdude: ;-)

  • I wish they sold more G1 bootlegs here in the states. It would be easier for some of us who don't have jobs to acquire some rare molds...no matter how poorly built they may be.

  • @YungReg88: Yeah, they're very rare here. And if/when you find them online or at collector/specialty shops, you're paying inflated import prices.

  • @smutoys: I think it depends on where you buy them from. I got three G1 combiner KO's for under $10 each at Walgreen's a few years ago. Haven't seen any lately though.

  • @YungReg88: Not bad at all, I never thought of checking Walgreens. :\
