this is a commentary on human dependency on technology nowadays. She attaches all of these emotions and feelings to this piece of plastic and metal, and ultimately she is exposed to be quite delicate, which is an adjective that does not describe the technology, as the phone does not break when it falls. she is left a brittle shell because she is so centered around the phone and not the rest of the world
