Diamond Stylz interviews Susi Graf, an Austrian filmmaker, about her new film "Lost in the Crowd," about homeless youth in New York City. The film tells the story of several mostly transgender individuals focusing on how they became homeless and their attempts to survive on the streets of New York. Most of the youth say the reason that they're homeless in the first place is because they have been rejected from their families.
Lost in the Crowd reveals a glimpse into the unknown world of homeless transgender youth. Shelter Life is portrayed as well as attempts of release in the ballroom scene featuring ballroom icon Willi Ninja. Willie Ninja too his innovative dance styles out of the ball scene and into mainstream media

  • Great interview Diamond! I am going to see this. A lot of people don't understand the issues facing LGB and especially T youth. Willie Ninja...I need to rewatch "Paris is Burning," it's been a few years.

  • @MeghansLife thansk meg...he was the guy tat inspire madonna Vogue

  • Keyword is "lifestyle" Susi mentioned at 1:05. While I do see the problem of the homeless youth, being Trans is not a lifestyle. And not always expressed in the obvious.

  • @Suzie4good interesting....see that where the english language fails us sometime becaus ei call the trans life a lifestyle. that "lifestyle" is what i tell people is the difference between transsexual and crossdressers. Transsexual live the life and crossdresser play in clothes....but we all have our own meanings for each terminology and dimensions of what trans is.

  • @nochokin a lifestyle indicates a choice. So your way of "living the life" is the only way? I don't think so.

  • @Suzie4good If you reread what i said ,,,i said WE ALL HAVE OUR OWN DIMENSION OF WHAT TRANS IS...so of course i dont think my way is the only way. And i never said you were wrong, you stated your OPINION and I responded with mine. On the issue of choice. ..Although you feelings are not a choice, as a trans person, you DECIDE to live how you feel rather that live how you were born. Therefore, the decision to live how you feel and not how you were born is in fact a CHOICE
