  • On iTunes, it's called the "Brood War Aria." "Morituri te salutant" is Latin for "We who are dying salute you" and was what the Roman gladiators said to the Emperor at the beginning of a battle.

  • Don't be afraid

    Of suffering

    The future

    Awaits us

    The soldiers will return!

    They will arrive victoriously!

    Give everything for honor!

  • Brood War Aria, often called Morituri Te Salutant for the recognizable first line. The Latin aria is by Blizzard maestro Glenn Stafford; the French portion by Jason Hayes. Jason posted the French lyrics and translation on his message board, but the widely circulated Latin lyrics were appended by a well-meaning but incorrect forumgoer. Poorly transcribed and translated, but they appeared next to the official French, so they made it onto a bunch of lyrics sites.

  • @WrathOfTheNooB Two years late, I know, but this translation is actually incorrect. It was posted in the French composer's message board, but the transcription was incorrect; since it was next to the composer's correct French lyrics and translation, it's been circulated as correct. I've been looking all over the place for the correct Latin, but the maestro behind that half of the song isn't online at all.

  • im just really sad for the marines, facing zerg. :(

  • Does anyone know the song at the beginning of the scene? The Guitar? The guitar was the perfect theme for the battle scene.
