Virtual Tour of Bickel Camp in California's Western Mojave Desert. Bickelcamp.org - Walt Bickel built his cabin in the 1930's in Last Chance Canyon. Please respect this property and those who lived their lives here. Visit, learn and enjoy but don't remove items from this historic place. - Caretaker Jose Poblano walks you through camp showing some of the things miner & inventor, Walter Bickel lived. Non-profit "Friends of Last Chance Canyon" has been formed to help preserve this unique place in it's original context. Please consider making a donation to help with this effort. When visiting camp, please remember to bring water and other staples including toilet paper, paper towels, propane, gasoline, fruits, potatoes, onions, bread and other staple items to leave with the caretaker. Bickel Camp has no phones or cell service and is miles along rough desert roads from any town. Please visit TFLCC.org for more info. Thank you!

I love the video. Great job! However.. the music (though great, I love Jazz) makes me think Linus and Snoopy are going to walk by.

I visited for the summer of 1970, as a 12 year old kid was a great adventure. I have many fond memories and still have my share of our summers gold mining. about an ounce worth plus a 1/3 ounce nugget. I am glad that the site is being preserved.
