Pakistani maritime authorities arrested 13 Indian fishermen and captured three boats for illegally venturing into Pakistan's territorial waters. They were handed over to police in Karachi for legal action.

Pakistani authorities arrested 13 Indian fishermen and seized their three boats on Monday evening for operating inside Pakistani waters.

The fishermen were handed over to police in the southern port city of Karachi on Tuesday.

The South Asian rivals frequently arrest each other's fishermen, for straying into each other's territory. Fishermen end up spending years in their jails.

Pakistan and India released hundreds of detained fishermen last year.

India shares an expansive oceanic border with Pakistan without any clear demarcation, and fishermen often ignore rules while netting their catch.

couple years ago a ukraine fishing boat lodged up from shallow waters in our coastal area just by my friend's cottage, they were not supposed to be there, but you know what we did in Canada, we gave them a place to stay and took them out to the bars and let them have a good time while they waited to be able to leave.
