  • my moms birthday song, she has severe Alzheimers but when i played her this song she had instant memory and for a short moment she remembered us

  • I'm 64 years, and this song makes me feel 10 years old again. I'd like to point out that for those of you who didn't hear the original songs of the Everlys that, in addition to their magic harmonies, their electric guitars with reverb and tremelo sounds were just amazing to those of us who'd only heard acoustic recordings previously. I still claim that Everlys were better than Elvis or anyone else in late 50's, early 60's.....until those bleedin' blokes from across the pond got cranked up.

  • Only the Louvin Bros. can sing harmony better than these guys, these singers are in a class all by themselves and their guitar playing style is pure genious.

  • @MrDaiseymay Guitar pickin in America always comes back to Chet Atkins, doesn't it?

I never saw Chet, or the Everlys, live, but I went to college in Bristol(I'm guessin you were talkin about the town in Tennessee) and sure heard lots of good guitar there. Not sure any harmony will ever be done better than Don & Phil..... Peter, Paul & Mary gave it a shot, but it was a totally different type of music.

  • Nothing ever compares to original recordings---the boys were in their prime too. Whenever I hear this (one of my alltime favs) I think of the sound coming out of a huge 'Seeburg' jukebox, with colossal bass---in a caff I used to frequent at that time. LOVERLY !!

  • @johnnyrebangel Your right--the electric stuff was played by none other than Chet Atkins, who played on many records of that period including Elvis, and he also produced for these stars too. I met Chet in Bristol in the early 90's, a very easy-going laid back guy as you'd expect.

  • linda musica....

  • Love this original vinyl version. One of the best duets ever. The best!!

    Thanks for the upload.

  • Meu, que linda! (:*-*:)

  • listen to this song with rainymood website in the background at the same time, it's so WOAH

  • @Jadefg Don Everly was always the lead singer, with Phil Everly singing higher part in harmony.

  • Lovely harmonies, legends!
