Venice, Italy - an early morning arrival by cruise ship

Arrival at the Port of Venice, Italy, early morning by cruise ship. Venice is the most beautiful port city in the world and cruising through Canal Grande is spectacular! Don't ever miss this when cruising from/to Venice, even if it means getting up at 5:30 am ...

We cruise along the Canal Grande from the harbor entrance to the cruise port, while the highlight of course is passing the Piazza San Marco. This cruise through the Canal Grande in reality takes about 45 minutes, we've compressed this to a time lapse video of about 6 minutes, partially slowing down for the most spectacular view, the Piazza San Marco.

We've been cruising to/from Venice on the luxurious French cruise ship L'Austral, which adds to the wonderful Venice experience.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience.

But your not cruising the Canal Grande. You enter at Porto di Lido, proceed to Bacino di San Marco, pass the entrance of Canal Grande and cruise through Canale della Guidecca to Stazione Marittima.

(The Canal Grande is much smaller and has 4 bridges a cruise ship can't pass.)
