David Holt interviews famed Piedmont guitarist Etta Baker. Baker is over 90 years old and continues to be the preeminent player of the Piedmont blues guitar. She also demonstrates here style of playing with a bottleneck. Holt and Baker play tunes such as "Goin' Down this Road Feelin' Bad," "Carolina Breakdown," "Railroad Bill," "Kentucky Rag," and "One Dime Blues," She says she's still learning new songs.
What a great video. Great music, great people, great stories, great history. Thanks for sharing. I wish I would've been friends with Etta - she seemed like a wonderful person.

The comment about her not liking to take other people's music is really interesting. I would have loved to ask her why she felt that way.

Etta said that the music kept her going and that she praticed an hour a day. Well I wish everyone would pick up a "geetar" cause everyone I know that does gets and gives so much in return. I've seen it work miracles. Thanks to David and especially Edda.

David is a true Americian treasure. He has done a lot of work to insure that the Carolina blues does not die out. I got the chance to hear and meet him. He is a very nice, down to earth person. Both David and Etta are true Carolina legend. God bless them.
