Interview with Debbie Melnyk: Part One

During the 2007 San Francisco Documentary Film Festival, I interviewed Debbie Melnyk, director and producer of the documentary film Manufacturing Dissent. In the film, Melnyk and her co-director and co-producer Rick Caine, pursue an interview with Michael Moore and much to their surprise, their documentary takes a very Roger and Me turn. The film they conceived of as a biography of a liberal film icon evolves into an insightful expose of Moore's filmmaking.

I learned allot from this interview. First thing I learned was to tell both sides of the story, so I will make sure I include my negative and positive traits on my next resume. And if I ever go to court I will remember that only defending myself is telling only half of the story. I glad this women wasnt so forceful, and she was able to show her mistakes at Michael Moore expects. It not like giving Michael Moore a fair chance to defend himself is showing both sides of the story

And I agree that the 1990 interview with Roger Smith should have been shown in the 1989 movie, Roger & Me

Debbie Melnyk makes 'documentary' that is no better than high school bashing. The fact that she made 'manufacturing dissent' around the time of historical importance may have cost lives..but that's too far out, isn't it. Thank you Debbie Melnyk.

No, it does not. Her work (Did you bother to WATCH her film?) is not anti or pro left or right. She is merely anti LYING. Moore lies. It does not help the left to have a liar as their champion, anymore than it helps the right to have a liar like Limbaugh.
