  • I applaud the attempts at this song but they miss the obvious. SWEET BLACK ANGEL is in open "G"; D-G-D-G-B-D, like many of Keith's compositions. And its very easy. The descending notes in the verses is best achieved by, in the first two beats, fretting the fifth (G) and third (also G) strings at the 7th fret and sliding both fingers down for a tap at the 5th fret. As soon as I learn to place a video on YOUTUBE I'll show y'all the rest.

  • @samkan90 I sure would like to hear it played properly in open G. Never have, though.

  • you ddint nail this one....i cant figure it out either as much as ive tried

    more picking going on

  • @shmutzydawg Maybe I've seen sitting next to Marshall amplifiers for too many years, but I can't hear any more picking going on.

  • It was a long work week and I crashed big time on my day off, napping for 4 hours in the afternoon. Now the house is quiet, I'm not sleepy and I have time to work on this tune. How I wish lessons like this were around 20 years ago. Thanks again for taking the time for the post. What happened to Pinball Wizard? I was looking for it and it was pulled off. Thanks again.

  • @barryb83110 Are you outside the US? The copyright rules are different around the world, so videos that are OK in the US are sometimes blocked elsewhere, and vice versa. Sorry about that.

  • wats tht thing on yer arm???

  • Always wanted to know how to play this, Thanks.

  • Well done. This helped me out. There is no way that this song was recorded in open G. I know many Keef riffs are in open G, but it's not needed for this song. Thanks for posting.

  • @BrownnoR

I would sure like to see this one as a lesson as well. I can seem to get the picking pattern solved.

privettricker - would you please help us out?
