Ambience of St. Joseph County, IN siren system during a tornado warning on May 29, 2011. Taken from just north of the state line in Niles MI, the closest 2 sirens are about 1.5 miles away. I believe all sirens are Federal 2001-DC models.

  • It depends where the sirens are coming from. Goshen has all 2001-DC's and some new 2001-130's. I believe South Bend has all 2001-SRN's.

  • @mohkfry This is near South Bend. The loudest ones are just north of Auten Rd. near 933. This era of 2001 is usually referred to as SRN, but the ones in and around SB are all just DC models, meaning they run off the batteries all the time, not just during a power outage.

  • South bend has mostly SRNs with 3 SRNBs (crumstown area) and 3 130s(walkerton area).
