Wow man I wish I would've stumbled on to this sooner, I'd have offered to come out and at least help you shovel up some of that mud, I'm really sorry that happened to you, you seem like a genuinely nice guy, un-believable how someone can lie like that, I personally wouldn't be able to live in my skin if I were that person. I hope you remedied that situation.
Best of luck to you and your family, God bless.

Yes the seller's disclosure form clearly shows he lied in light of the testimony of neighbors & even the city engineer who is helping in this case.

More interesting info to come...

the seller lied on the disclosure statement - said NO FLOOD damage but neighbors & even the city engineer testified that there was multiple floodings.

If I had known about the floodings, I would not have purchased the prop.

There are actually two issues - 1= poor city drainage & 2= lying seller who is actually committing fraud.

Both need to be addressed for certain.

My advice is not to blame anyone and to accept what has happened. Simple.

so upholding contractual law is a mute point with you?

interesting but thats immature and naive at best, however if thats how you live, more power to you.

For me I will not let ppl defraud me or my family of what it right morally or by law, but thats just me.

Mate; I'm sorry. I get lied to all of the time, and I know how it hurts. When I bought my house there was fitted furniture that was included in the details but the seller removed it just before I moved in. I started to take proceedings but in the end it got too difficult.

I know how you feel - it sucks being lied to.

We are still looking into our options with this mess - Lord willing something good will come of this.

Yes, you can talk to a lawyer about the seller..but..I can bet you that the lawyer will steer you into dealing with the city concerning this matter. I'd sue the city. You could try going after the owner as well for lying on the seller documents. In terms of getting things fixed though, you will want to bring a claim against the city.
