In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day, local school children helped the Disneyland Resort's horticulture team release 140,000 ladybugs in benefit of the environment. Nearly 100 third-grade students from Dr. Peter Marshall Elementary School in Anaheim had the opportunity to take science outside the classroom and into a living laboratory. The students learned about environmentally friendly gardening practices and the advantages of using beneficial bugs. The Resort's pest management program began a decade ago and reduces the use of pesticides.

  • go marshall school!

  • Aww, awesome! That's really cute. I would have loved to see so many ladybugs.

  • Very cool! :-)

  • I love that area in the Disney resort

  • It's cool that Francis Ladybug from "A Bug's Life" came out for the occasion. He's definetely an extremely rare character to see in the parks.

  • yay my B-DAY

  • Pfft, you want ladybugs? Come to Michigan, we have problems with ladybugs laying eggs inside the walls and windows. Every spring we have hundreds of ladybugs crawling in between the window glass and the screen, and that's just our house.

  • @BethieeBabes that's quite sad :( why?
