http://www.vernissage.tv | At Design Miami Basel 2009 Natalie Kovacs curated a show for Carpenters Workshop Gallery entitled Never-Ever Land. Located at the Design Miami entrance, Never-Ever land presented an alternative functional sculpture garden, exploring the possibility for design to entertain, enliven and enlighten. Among the pieces on display were the Sensory Deprivation Skull by Atelier van Lieshout, the Mountain Chair by Marc Quinn, the aluminium bench Spaghetti Corten by Pablo Reinoso. Another work by Atelier van Lieshout is the Mini Capsule Hotel. The Mini Capsule Hotel is a self-operated hotel that can house up to 6 couples in a straightforward lodging, not unlike hutches for rabbits. Brad Pitt bought the piece for his kids, by the way. In this video, Raphaele Shirley talks with curator Natalie Kovacs about the Mini Capsule Hotel and the concept of her exhibition Never-Ever Land.

  • foreclosure ranch?

  • the Japanese capsule hotel is better

  • Branding vs Content? I am 100000% SURE the Wynn in Vegas has a FUCK load more content than this dumpster converted into a fucking hotel. PLUS this design works in Japan already, this isn't unique but a cheap ass ripoff of a really good idea.

  • Can't have sex in that thing! :P

  • Almost perfect. They should make it just a Little smaller. Then put it in the Ground dump some sand on it and get it over with.

  • lots of japanese men who are drunk and can't find their way home stay in capsule hotels =3

  • Forget the capsule hotel, I wanna sit in that giant skull!

  • this is great!!!! would love to have a mini hotel like this in my garden for people I invite

  • why would someone pay 23 dollars for this crap when you can live in a "travel home" for the same price.
