Lets go back to the autumn of 1978 for this one. In the days before video recorders Whirlwind made an appearance on the TV show 'Saturday Banana' hosted by Bill Oddie and a certain Metal Mickey. The appearance was recorded straight from the TV set on cine camera by bass player Chris Emo's dad. Here for the first time in 30 years is a record of that appearance from the Whirlwind archive. Line up on this day was Nigel Dixon, Mick Lewis, Rob Russell, Gary Hassett and Chris Emo. Look out for guitarist Mick Lewis and Rob Russell on piano, both still going strong with Whirlwind in 2010 and still Blowing Up A Storm with new band mates Nick Dadd, Bob MacDonald and James Bell.
