When jerry starts the ol" make good money 5 dollars a day 'f made anymore i might move away" if there is anyone out there who hears this and see's this and has even 1 negative word to say about it they never really got what the grateful dead had to offer. Even though it took me 3 hours to find our car after this show i would not trade these times for a million bucks. I knew from my 1st show at the fox theatre in 1977 that i wanted more of the same, same old rat in a drain ditch.
If any of you all actually played these riffs that jerry is pulling off you might think twice about criticizing the guy. He jams in like 26,000 notes, all in seven minutes. ..."He can't win, for losing"....
i don't know, it sounds a bit "off", but Jerry is ripping up the solo's. Phil says in 84 Jerry was nearly motionless & isolated, and would stand there and play amazing music. All of this is quite simply an awesome time machine where we "get" to go back and listen too. And....at times, overanalyze it all to death. We're deadheads-thats what we do. But it is pretty fun to be able to relive it, or see it for the first time.....hear it for the first time. I mean REALLY hear it! good ol' Jerry!
i dont understand some of the comments i'm reading, jerry's mid-jam is killer, all cumberlands are different from each other, and thus each has its own moments, as i keep listening to this its pretty freakin' good
veeeerrrrryyyyyy sssssllllllllloooooooooooppppppppyyyyy. it does'nt even sound like Cumberland. None of the energy, I usually associate with this song is present. Listen to 10/12/84's Cumberland. 2 different songs almost.
I LOVE 1984 for the deeply psychedelic and strange music they played. The space in this show sounded like UFO's had hovered and landed on MPP, which then melted into a fine Morning Dew ... :: )

It's not even the whole show. Just this song. I'd like to add.
