  • People complaining about her: if you don't like her style go and record your own interpretation, go try and record you own CD's and sell them world wide, make world tours, play with the best orchestras in the world, and go play with the best musicians in the world and conductors.

  • WOW... She is amazing :)

  • @k73f Rostro. did not interpret the suites for a very long time, knowing that like most cellists, he had too much "personal" emotions, emotions that distracted him from interpreting Bach without bias. So to the contrary, being a great cellist does not automatically make one a great Bach interpreter. Obviously you have to be good to carry out the technical details, but interpretation wise?

  • @k73f I can't prove that there is no correlation whatsoever between the two. However, let me ask a few questions: what is a "respectful" interpretation? Because the are many interpretations that are completely different. You see cellists like Rostropovich and Yo-Yo Ma playing nearly OPPOSITE styles then they did in the past. Their interpretations, to many listeners, did not necessarily get better at all, worse in many cases Continued...

  • @NimbleTurtle13 I absolutely disagree. YOu have to be a good and mature cellist in order to have a understanding and respectful Bach interpretation.

  • @k73f Being good at the cello = being good at Bach. Totally different concept.

  • Alisa comes from a very musical family (her father and brother are violinists, and her mother is a pianist). Her cello playing is pure and beautiful.

  • I saw her once playing Golijov's celloconcert, and she did it great, but I have to say, Bach isn't her thing. Otherwise she's an amazing cellist.

  • @rkddbstlr Tie her hair back? I thought this was 2011.

  • @hagenbell

Too much emotion?! It's music. And this is very much her making her own music out of it.

  • way to much emtion. study the piece you r tard
