Love this scene from the Alamo.

The song is called Deguello de Crocket.

Note* - Folks please don't message me accusing to be some stupid Texan...yadayadayada. I put this music up solely for the song. There is understandably a lot of passionate feelings on both sides about the Alamo, about the Texas Revolution, etc. But it's been almost 200 years now...Personally I say get over it. Again, I put this scene up only because I love the scene.

  • And obviously, the overall "which side was right" viewpoint is going to be wildly biased, but that's just reality; one man's freedom-fighter is another man's terrorist. The Mexican's saw the Texan's as stealing their land, and the Texan's saw the Mexicans as stealing their freedom. Neither side was "right." And for those thinking the U.S. stole Mexican land... Where do you think the Mexicans got it from? They stole it themselves. The Spanish stole it from the natives, then WE stole it from them.

  • @Russell218 To the victors, go the spoils! That is how it is.....

  • This war was not about stealing land. The Anglos who had moved to Texas were perfectly happy living as Mexican citizens under their Constitution, until Santa Anna became a dictator and usurped the constitution. This war was a politcal freedom revolution, just as the American Revolution was. Several northern Mexican states also revolted, but were quickly put down as Santa Anna marched north. Many native Mexicans fought on the Texicans' side at the Alamo, most have counties named after them

  • I love this actor as Davy Crockett !!!

  • @Russell218 The Mexican government was actively encouraging settlers to come to Texas which was not widely populated at the time. However, once there began to be too many American settlers began to occupy the Mexican territory, the government began enacting laws meant to stop immigration and conform the new immigrants. This angered the Texans who came West in search of greater freedom in the first place which led inevitably to the Texas Revolution.

  • Since space aliens were the first inhabitents here on Earth then the spanish or Indians techically stole the land from them. Last I heard the aliens are gearing up in thier tunnels around Dulce for a final battle against humans that will make the Alamo look like childs play. San Antonio residents be prepared. Space alien conspirist's have given you fair warning.
