  • Hi, just a quick couple of questions. I have the Santa Fe which is the same vehicle. When driving on the sand did you use the "lock" button? Secondly were you in drive or tiptronic? Any other tips to driving this vehicle on sand besides pressures? Appreciate your time.

  • @iDriveSanteFe On the sand I did use the lock button and disengage the traction control, it just slows you and applies the brakes which is the enemy of momentum in sand. Mostly kept the vehicle in drive, lazy but did use the tiptronic where needed. Main tip is turn off the traction control and tyre pressures. That is the key to sand driving, the tourque of the motor made it easy, even in some really soft stuff.

The only thing I'm worried about is ground clearance- the Sorento has about the same mm in ground clearance as the Sportage- did you have a problem at all with it being so low?

  • I wouldnt have thought this car would go on the sand like that, surprising...
