[Please keep in mind that this video was pulled from a videotape over 20 years old, recorded with an old camcorder. The video and audio grow increasingly out-of-sync as the video progresses.]
The 2nd video in a 3-part series. The video starts off where the 1st video ended, and at that point, Jim & Tammy were trying to get a guests' camera to take a picture. Jim had been fiddling with a camera for about five minutes trying to get it to work. Jim aims the camera at me a couple times trying to get it to fire. Nothing. The guy in overalls leans forward several times to try to offer assistance. Tammy says, "This is going to be an interesting roll of film!"
Tammy tries to hurry up the pace at 1:27 and pretty much impresses upon someone in the crowd: "You'll take a picture, won't you? You'll send it to them, won't you? She'll take one. C'mon guys. She'll send it to you." The sound is sightly out of sync by this point.
The camera didn't flash on someones' 2nd attempt, but Tammy says, "It flashed the first time, though.", hoping that would suffice.
Jim heads back up the stairs to pay his bill, but is again asked to come back by a throng of old women wanting hugs. He obliges. Tammy disappears back up the steps behind Jim. After a few more hugs Jim says, "I need to pay my bill", then dashes back up the steps. Someone is overheard saying, "I'll pay it for ya, don't even worry about it." I was wondering if he meant paying Jim's lunch bill, or paying for the cost of developing the picture that was just taken of the three men.
A few more hugs in the restaurant. The blonde woman who was seated in between Jim & Tammy earlier at the table returns into the scene. She had apparently gone outside and gotten the "getaway" car parked & ready. You'll see what I mean later.
At 5:00, Tammy is stopped by two old women all wanting to see her braided hair extension. Of course, they have to touch and inspect it. Tammy wants nothing more than to get out of there.
More hugs. Tammy says, "Keep praying. God is doing something wonderful." Then Tammy signs an autograph in the thick Heritage USA picture book that was given to all the Partners. Tammy mentions that she needs to go to their home in Gatlinburg to pick up some clothes. Perhaps that was the reason for her apparent haste.
By this point the crowd had grown to about 100 people. Some people are overheard debating on whether their hair looks good enough for a picture with Tammy. At one point she is led over to the grand piano for a couple pictures. Again, to hurry up the pace, she says, "The first one flashed." One more picture and she says, "There, it did that time," then quickly left the scene.
I wasn't the only one in the lobby with a video camera in hand!
Tammy then loudly announces, "Where did he go...?" "Now where is Mr. Bakker?" Tammy turns around to me and says that "Exciting things are happening that we can't say right this minute, but we're gonna give everyone back what was taken away from them." Sadly, this was not to be the case.
Finally, by the end of the video, Jim has more or less made his way back down the steps to where Tammy was waiting (and fighting off the incessant throngs of people wanting pictures and such!). They are heading outside to the waiting car. Look for video #3 for that.
I needed to clarify that while Tammy was a sweetheart, you can see some slight signs of stress in her comments & actions. It's clear she has had enough of picture-taking and wants Jim to hurry up so they can get out of Dodge ASAP. The Bakkers by this point (June 1988) were no doubt under enormous pressure from PTL Partners, lawyers, the courts, and not to mention friends & ultimately, family, so Tammy's growing nervousness is quite understandable. I bet she is up in heaven now watching this video on YouTube, laughing, and showing the other angels around her who had not had the opportunity to see Heritage USA all the neat things I show in all my videos about the park.
i only just found out about this theme park yesterday. .. it actually makes me feel sick reading about this place. .. what an amazing place.. all the money put into it and now its a dump... all the corruption and backstabbing etc. very sad Christians not working together. .. at least it was successful for 8 or so years.. thanks so much for all your work.

Indeed, it was an an awesome place to visit. What's left of it now, 20+ years after its' collapse, is a mere fraction of what it once was, with just a few of the original buildings still remaining.
I have close to 60 vids on YouTube all relating in one way or another to Heritage USA.

Once again you show that you have NO idea what you are talking about. Jerry Falwell and his complete board resigned on October 8, 1987. It is no wonder that he or anyone associated with him are not around if this video is from 1988 !!

No one knows everything, asswipe. You are obviously going through my videos with a fine toothed comb looking for anything about which you can call me on the carpet.

It is possible that they slipped past Falwell's security. It's also possible Falwell was not even on the grounds at the time. It was just before July 4th, 1988, when I made these videos, and he may have high-tailed back to Lynchburg for the holidays.
I saw no security whatsoever anywhere near the Bakkers, asking that they leave. If the Bakkers did manage to sneak in unnoticed, it was not long before a crowd developed.
