@MissEmmJay The midget was an internal mirror of his guilt over his drowned daughter, whose circumstances of his meeting his death --and murderer --were brought upon himself for failing to forgive himself for his daughter's drowning. The midget was "there" all along, in the original picture he spilled water upon AS his daughter was dying, in Venice, in the church of Himself.

The fim is a meditation on Spinoza's ideas about internal and external reality being delicately related, a la quantuum physics. The ending makes complete sense if the film is read this way.

@2210ethan Because I really thought that there was an inttricate and smart explanation to what was going on and it turns out its a fugly miget thats killing everybody..we dont even know how and honestly how (shes so small!)

Are you guys out of your mind? This is not the best horror movie. It's a classic sure, but the plot is so malconstructed and the end does not make sense at all.
