  • Robert Paisola Reports UPDATE:

The Senate voted to cut off ACORN Housing funds following the release of three videotapes that show employees of the activist group advising a "pimp" and "prostitute" on how to break the law.

The amendment, offered by Nebraska Republican Sen. Mike Johanns, passed in a vote of 83 to 7 and prohibits the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now from receiving funds from the current Transportation and Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill.

  • @lordblazer - ACORN solely backs Democrats....you have no idea what you're talking about. Again, thank god they have been dissolved. They were criminal.

  • @gombis666 they never backed any political party so yea they're pretty non-partisan civil service group. But civility no longer exist in a country that wants to appeal to extreme conservatism.

  • @jensen1901 lol

  • Non-partisan? ACORN has NEVER EVER NOT ONCE EVER backed or supported a republican. If that's not "non-partisan" can someone please give me the definition? Thank god this criminal organization is done with.

  • 90 percent of new voters registered by Acorn are legit. The do good work and flag the bad registrants themselves.

  • Good answer, I didn't know that.

So basically it was ACORN who was being defrauded?

Or was somebody in turn paying ACORN?

I don't know about excusing it, though. We may as well not prosecute shoplifting or looting.

And how can you know the situation of everyone involved in advance?

  • The reason was they were poor people getting paid for the number of registrations they submitted. Bad incentive system, no doubt, but give me a choice between money for food /rent and starving/becoming homeless I would do the same for my family. If you wouldn't, you're lying.

  • tmo7759, what would you say the reason is, for ACORN people going to the trouble of submitting phony registrations?

    Who benefits, and how?

And isn't fraudulent registration a crime, in and of itself, even if it doesn't lead to fraudulent voting?

  • Al Franck=CON got "more" votes than people who live in those countys?........hmmmmmmm........sounds like the Dims were pretty INTO = stealing in that state! ............and a few little ACORNS were rolling around working the elections and even said there were BONUSES for "more" registrations sent in! We in our state had DEAD PEOPLE and felons sent ballots and Storage Units showing multiple votes coming from that one address?...not legal! = but Dims don't care about MORALS & SHAME! they wanna WIN

  • Oh C'mon they are just being good ole Democrats. They dont need your legitimate vote to get elected. And they say that Bush stole the election.
